Seller's Description

Pioneer CLD-M90 Multi-Play CD CDV/LD Laserdisc Player No Remote w/ Box SERVICEDPlayer is in good working order, having been serviced by myself personally. When I first acquired this unit it was in dire need of belt replacements for the disc tray and laser transport. I have since installed a fresh set, cleaned the interior with compressed air, and polished the laser lens with isopropyl alcohol. The unit is now able to properly load and track any CD or LD that is loaded into it, while showing no incongruities in playback quality that I have encountered. All buttons along the face are appropriately responsive to their designated action, display screen shines brightly, and power chord is void if any tears or frays along the length of the cable. Player is in great shape cosmetically, showing minimal signs of age-related wear around the exterior. No notable points of damage inflicted along any edge or face of the units metal housing or front display. Unit unfortunately does not include a remote control, but will be shipped with the original box from the manufacturer. See all pictures closely for details of condition, and specifications of the item.I specialize in shipping electronics such as this, and can guarantee that every precaution will be taken to ensure safe delivery of your purchase. Our Thoughts RADAR AI

Are you specifically after a serviced LaserDisc player that also handles CDs, rather than a cheaper single-purpose deck? At US$349, this is a fair-to-good buy: it sits above the US$196 median but below the US$445 75th percentile in 1,809 comparable listings, and the servicing plus original box add meaningful value. It is not a bargain, but the price is defensible if testing is thorough.

The CLD-M90 is an unusually versatile early-1990s machine, combining CD, CDV, and LaserDisc playback with a five-disc CD changer. It suits a collector who values convenience and period-correct hardware, and the box should help with safer transport. The missing remote is the main practical drawback, since the supplied CU-CLD051 controlled important functions, while the changer mechanism is a known area to verify. Ask exactly what “serviced” covered, and confirm reliable loading, changer operation, CD playback, and LaserDisc tracking before buying.

Independent perspective — not a price guarantee. Always verify condition, accessories and provenance before purchase.

About Pioneer

Pioneer traces its roots to 1937 in Tokyo, Japan, when founder Nozomu Matsumoto, inspired by the thrill of imported hi-fi speakers, developed the A-8 dynamic speaker and launched a radio and speaker repair shop. The business formalized as Fukuin Shokai Denki Seisakusho in 1938, evolving into Pioneer Corporation and embodying Matsumoto's philosophy of "Move the Heart and Touch the Soul" through audio innovation.

The brand excels across diverse hi-fi categories, pioneering Japan's first headphones in 1960 with the SE-1 and the world's first component-based stereo system in 1965 via the PSC-5A. Pioneer's portfolio spans amplifiers, speakers, turntables, and DACs, alongside landmark car audio advancements like the 1975 Supertuner-equipped stereo and the 1986 in-car CD player, blending home and automotive excellence.

Today, Pioneer holds a commanding mid-to-high-tier position in the market, revered for reliable, performance-driven gear that balances premium quality with accessibility. Its vintage components attract collectors, while current offerings appeal to discerning buyers seeking robust, innovative sound reproduction without boutique excess.
