Offered is „Orthos II“ by Ayon Audio as second-hand device from the category „Tube-Poweramp“ on audio-markt.de - the online market place for high-end. The advert with the number 8036737674 ends on 26.12.2026 at 12:38 o'clock.
The original Orthos II was a €14,000-per-pair amplifier, delivering 200W in pentode or 120W in triode, so €5,000 for a clean pair is well below its historical pricing and looks like a strong used-market buy. The exact current resale market is thin, but this is firmly bargain territory rather than merely fair value.
Its appeal is substantial: genuine Class-A operation, switchable triode/pentode modes, zero negative feedback, balanced and single-ended inputs, and enough power for demanding loudspeakers. A well-kept example can offer a big, colourful, dynamically effortless presentation without the usual small-tube-amplifier limitations. Verify that €5,000 means both monoblocks, and confirm tube condition, working auto-bias/tube-test functions, quiet transformers, original covers, and safe shipping; if those checks pass, this is an unusually attractive purchase.
Independent perspective — not a price guarantee. Always verify condition, accessories and provenance before purchase.
Ayon Audio traces its roots to Austria, where it emerged four decades ago as VAIC before evolving into Ayon Audio in 2001 under the leadership of founder Gerhard Hirt. The brand specializes in a comprehensive lineup of vacuum tube components, including power amplifiers, preamplifiers, headphone amplifiers, CD players, DACs, and streamers. Ayon's signature "Voicing"—its proprietary DNA—infuses every product with a distinctive soundstage renowned for depth, realism, and emotional engagement, setting new benchmarks in pure Class A circuit topologies.
Positioned firmly in the high-end market, Ayon commands global respect with distributors in over 55 countries and a trophy cabinet brimming from "Best Sound" and "Cost No Object" accolades at major audio shows. Austrian-engineered and award-winning, it appeals to discerning audiophiles seeking boutique excellence in tube amplification, far beyond mid-tier compromises.
