Seller's Description

Linn Majik DSM/1 Integrated Amplifier (Solid State) Selling my Linn Majik DS/1 amplifier (FAULTY) Unfortunately this isn't working. It powers on but has an issue. I have spoken with Audio Connection and being a Linn product this is still supported and can be fixed definitely.   Again like Linn products this still receives regular free updates. Even with the age is it added Spotify, Qobuz, Tidal, internet radio and Roon. It can also be controlled via the new app The phono is obviously excellent as is the dac and the sound of this unit when working.  Pickup in Coorparoo or happy to ship at extra

Our Thoughts RADAR AI

This is a steal at AUD$525 for a Linn Majik DSM/1 integrated amp, but only if you're handy with repairs—it's listed as non-functioning, slashing it way below the typical used market of AUD$2,500–4,000 for working units in good shape. New ones retailed around AUD$6,900, and even older DSM models hold value thanks to Linn's class-D punch and streaming smarts, so a parts unit like this is dirt cheap for tinkerers or spares.

Before biting, verify the exact fault—Linn DSMs often fail from power supply caps or DSM network board issues, which could run AUD$500–1,000 to fix at a service center. Demand the original remote, manual, power cord, and any module slots intact; test for signs of water damage or abuse, and check serial number age via Linn support to gauge remaining warranty life. Non-negotiable seller stance means act fast if it fits your wrench-turning budget.

Independent perspective — not a price guarantee. Always verify condition, accessories and provenance before purchase.

About Linn

Linn Products: Brand Overview

Linn Products was founded in 1973 by Scottish engineer Ivor Tiefenbrun in Glasgow as a vehicle to manufacture the Sondek LP12 turntable, which would become the company's most iconic product and a cornerstone of high-fidelity audio. The brand emerged during the golden era of British hi-fi with a revolutionary "source first" philosophy—challenging the prevailing industry belief that loudspeakers mattered most by demonstrating that superior sound quality begins with the audio source. This foundational principle has guided the company's engineering ethos for over five decades.

Linn's product portfolio spans the complete hi-fi chain, from turntables and tonearms to preamplifiers, power amplifiers, and loudspeakers. The company introduced the world's first microprocessor-controlled preamplifier and power amplifier in 1985 (the LK1 and LK2), establishing itself as an electronics specialist. From 2007 onward, Linn pivoted toward digital music streaming, becoming an early adopter of network-based audio playback supporting studio master-quality recordings at 24-bit/192 kHz resolution, and discontinued CD player production in 2009 to focus on this strategic direction.

Linn occupies the high-end segment of the audio market, commanding respect among discerning audiophiles and collectors for its uncompromising engineering approach and longevity. The brand's reputation rests on meticulous product design, acoustic isolation principles, and a commitment to eliminating weak links in the signal chain—a philosophy that has made Linn one of the most influential manufacturers in hi-fi history and a benchmark for quality-focused audio engineering.
