This is a buyer’s market for compact all-in-one systems, and €100 is a strong deal here. It sits well below the €134 25th-percentile asking price and comfortably under the €145 median from 22 comparable listings, making it a genuine bargain rather than merely a fair price.
The Wave Music remains appealing for its compact size, warm, room-filling presentation and remarkably useful combination of radio, CD playback and auxiliary input. Bose’s waveguide design gives it fuller bass than its cabinet suggests, making it particularly good for a kitchen, study or bedside system. The included power cable is useful, though confirm the remote is present because most functions depend on it. At this price, even an older example is worth serious consideration; test CD loading, radio reception, display, remote operation and both channels before buying.

Bose Corporation traces its roots to 1964, when MIT professor Amar Gopal Bose founded the company in Natick, Massachusetts, after growing disillusioned with the poor performance of a high-end stereo system he purchased as a graduate student. Driven by a passion for replicating the immersive qualities of live music through rigorous acoustic research, Bose launched the venture with initial contracts for the U.S. military and NASA, emphasizing innovative speaker designs that prioritized indirect, reverberant sound over direct radiation. This American heritage, rooted in psychoacoustics and engineering excellence, has defined the brand's pursuit of "Better Sound Through Research."
Bose excels in consumer and professional audio categories, renowned for its home audio systems, premium speakers like the iconic 901 Series, and pioneering noise-canceling headphones first prototyped in the 1980s for pilots. The lineup extends to vehicle sound systems, portable Bluetooth speakers, and professional installations, but steers clear of niche hi-fi components such as amplifiers, turntables, DACs, or cables, focusing instead on integrated, user-friendly solutions that blend advanced signal processing with spatial audio reproduction.
Positioned as a premium mid-tier powerhouse in the global market, Bose commands widespread appeal among discerning buyers seeking accessible high-performance audio without audiophile esoterica. Its reputation for innovation and reliability has built a loyal following, though purists occasionally critique its measured sound signature, cementing Bose as a dominant force in mainstream hi-fi rather than high-end boutique or vintage realms.
