At US$995, this is an ambitious ask, sitting well above the comparable-listing 75th percentile of US$301 and nearly 6.6 times the US$150 median. It only makes sense if the unit is exceptionally clean, fully tested, and includes genuinely useful original packaging; otherwise, patience should find better value.
The amplifier itself is a serious, substantial performer: seven channels at 200 watts into 8 ohms and 300 watts into 4 ohms, with the current and headroom to drive a demanding surround system convincingly. Its professional construction and uncommon seven-channel format are appealing, but it is discontinued and built around an older Crestron ecosystem, so confirm all channels, inputs, fans, trigger/control behavior, and the dedicated 20-amp power requirement before paying a premium.

Crestron was founded in 1972 in the United States by George Feldstein and built its reputation in professional AV, automation, and control systems rather than in traditional consumer hi-fi. It is a privately held company headquartered in Rockleigh, New Jersey, and its core business has long centered on integrated technology for commercial spaces and high-end residential systems.
In audio, Crestron is best known for installation-oriented products: control processors, AV distribution, streaming audio-over-IP systems, amplifiers, and architectural speakers. Its residential audio line is built around the Crestron Home platform and DM NAX distribution hardware, while its speakers are typically developed with partners such as Origin Acoustics rather than sold as standalone audiophile separates.
In the market, Crestron sits in the premium custom-install and high-end integration segment, not the conventional hi-fi retail space. Its appeal is strongest among system designers, integrators, and affluent homeowners who want whole-house audio, automation, and discreet in-wall or in-ceiling sound, rather than collectors looking for turntables, headphones, or vintage separates. It is a niche but major brand in residential and commercial integration, with audio positioned as part of a broader control ecosystem.
