The Hicap DR is a respected Naim power supply and a core upgrade for a lot of Naim preamps and source components, but at A$5,000 this asking price is far above the recent comparable market I’d use as an anchor. Against a typical range centered around A$1,761, with A$1,705 to A$1,818 as the main spread, this is clearly ambitious rather than fair value.
That said, a like-new example can still make sense for the right Naim system if it’s complete and genuinely pristine, because these supplies are sought after for the jump in drive, grip, and overall musical coherence they can bring. I’d want to confirm exact compatibility, original packaging, and flawless operation, but the main story here is simple: excellent product, strong reputation, very steep price.
