The timing is good if this is a current-generation buy and not an old, left-field holdover, because the AVC-X4800H is still a very capable modern AVR. At A$3,300, it is well above the recent used market anchor of A$2,192 and even over the A$2,237 75th percentile, so this reads as ambitious rather than fair value.
That said, it’s a strong piece if you want a well-regarded 9.4-channel Denon with excellent HDMI 2.1 support, solid room correction, and plenty of flexibility for Atmos, gaming, and future expansion. The upside is mainly in buying a current, high-spec unit with less risk than older AVRs; just make sure the package is complete and the unit has a clean history, because at this price there should be no obvious gaps.
