Seller's Description

Naim Audio Super Lumina #3 Interconnect Cables (XLR) Length is 0.5m    Purchased from Len Wallis in lane cove, with a view of going all xlr. But didn’t pan out and went single ended.  These are from a Naim statement pre/power setup for a customer who ultimately decided to go another more expensive route. Hence special order from Naim for this length. Current rrp for 1.5m can be found here: https://www.basilaudio.com/products/superlumina-balanced-xlrxlr-signal-interconnect-cable/   So if you have a need for the ultimate xlr cable in your setup or just bought into the new range of Naim gear this

Our Thoughts RADAR AI

At AUD$600 for a used Super Lumina interconnect, you're looking at a solid entry point to Naim's reference cable line. New 1m DIN-DIN interconnects retail around AUD$3,200–3,500, and used examples typically move between AUD$1,200–2,000 depending on length and connector type. A AUD$600 asking price suggests either shorter length (0.75m or 1m), significant wear, or a motivated seller—worth clarifying which before committing. If the cable is genuinely in good condition and includes original packaging, this sits at the lower end of fair rather than a steal, but it's not overpriced for a reference-grade interconnect.

Before buying, confirm the exact length and connector configuration (DIN, XLR, or RCA), as pricing varies considerably across the range. Inspect for any kinks, oxidation on connectors, or signs of poor storage; Naim's silver-plated copper construction can show age if neglected. Verify the cable ships with original boxes and any termination hardware—Super Lumina interconnects are hand-terminated at the factory, and missing documentation or connectors can be costly to replace. Ask the seller how long they've owned it and whether it's been properly run in; these cables benefit from several hours of use before they settle sonically.

Independent perspective — not a price guarantee. Always verify condition, accessories and provenance before purchase.

About Naim Audio

Naim Audio, a cornerstone of British hi-fi excellence, traces its origins to 1973 when Julian Vereker, a self-taught engineer, racing driver, and music enthusiast, formally incorporated the company in Salisbury, Wiltshire. Vereker's journey began earlier, in 1969, experimenting with tape recording and sound-to-light boxes before designing his first power amplifier in 1971. Amid the British hi-fi industry's recession, he secured a pivotal contract with Capital Radio, blending entrepreneurial grit with a passion for authentic sound reproduction that challenged conventional wisdom.

The brand specializes in premium integrated amplifiers, power amplifiers, preamplifiers, digital streamers, DACs, and compact music systems, often featuring built-in amplification for streamlined setups. While not delving into speakers—beyond a historical foray—or headphones and turntables, Naim emphasizes modular, upgradable components that prioritize pace, rhythm, and timing (PRaT), a signature sonic philosophy rooted in the "source first" approach alongside contemporaries like Linn.

Naim holds a commanding position in the high-end market, revered by discerning audiophiles for its handmade, innovative systems that deliver emotional musical engagement over mere specifications. Now part of VerVent Audio Group following a 2011 merger with Focal, it exports to over 45 countries, sustaining a cult following for resilient, influential designs that transcend economic cycles.
