Seller's Description

This is one of the original Audioquest cables and not the new version. Much sought after. In excellent condition. Originally cost £395. Made in the USA it works well with ultra high end power amps like Krell et al. 3.5 metre length fully terminated with factory banana plugs. Can be picked up from TS25 or will ship to a UK address at the buyers expense. This is an absolute bargain.

Our Thoughts RADAR AI

This is a buyer’s market for older AudioQuest speaker cables: comparable used Midnight listings commonly land around £60–£120 depending on length, terminations, and condition, so £100 in excellent condition is fair-to-good, not a steal but solid if the run length suits your system. It sits around the middle of the observed used range, so I’d treat it as a sensible buy rather than an aggressively priced bargain.

What makes it worthwhile is that Midnight has long had a good reputation for a full-bodied, dynamic presentation with proper build quality; these are the sort of cables people keep for years, especially if the terminations are intact and the jacket is still tidy. At this price, the main upside is getting a well-regarded, discontinued cable in clean cosmetic shape without paying new-cable money; just confirm the exact length, connector type, and that both channels match before pulling the trigger.

Independent perspective — not a price guarantee. Always verify condition, accessories and provenance before purchase.

About AudioQuest

Founded in 1980 by Bill Low in Irvine, California, AudioQuest traces its roots to 1978, when Low, a hi-fi store manager and avid enthusiast, began crafting superior audio cables to overcome the signal degradation he observed in existing products. Dissatisfied with subpar materials and construction, he prioritized advanced conductors like 6N copper, innovative insulation, and precise geometries, quickly earning acclaim after demos at events like the 1979 Summer CES. This passion-driven origin propelled AudioQuest from a cable innovator—first U.S. company to advance signal transmission in 1985—to a global force in high-performance audio.

While renowned for its expansive lineup of analog, digital, and AC power cables, including HDMI for video, AudioQuest has broadened into USB DACs and headphone amps, highlighted by the multi-award-winning DragonFly series launched in 2012. The brand also offers Niagara and PowerQuest power conditioners, alongside custom-install solutions, all engineered to maximize system fidelity without venturing into amplifiers, speakers, or turntables.

AudioQuest commands a premium position in the high-end market, supplying thousands of specialist retailers across 60 countries as the dominant cable provider for discerning audiophiles. Its relentless innovation, from conductor purity to dielectric design, delivers tangible performance gains, cementing a reputation for value and musicality that serious hi-fi buyers trust.
