Seller's Description

Primare R32 Phono Preamplifier Hello, First time selling here. I purchased this amazing Primare R32 phono pre from another member on this forum. Unfortunately it doesn’t quite fit my cabinet and I have not been able to find an alternative cabinet that fits my space and can take the weight. I have had the Primare checked by JZ services to confirm both MC and Mm inputs are working correctly. Comes with power cord. Can show it working. Condition: Very Good Payment Method: Cash on pickup Region/State: (WA) Western Australia/Australia By Drew21 0 Comments   AUD $800 Date: August 5, 20241 yr

Our Thoughts RADAR AI

A$800 is a touch above the A$766 median and just over the A$777 75th percentile, so this reads as a fair-to-slightly-ambitious ask rather than a bargain. For a Primare R 32, that’s still in sensible territory if the unit is genuinely clean and working properly.

It’s a well-regarded phono stage—quiet, refined, and a good match for revealing systems—so the value is in the sound quality more than headline specs. At A$800, I’d want confirmation of full function, tidy cosmetics, and any original packaging or paperwork, but there’s nothing here that makes it a hard pass.

Independent perspective — not a price guarantee. Always verify condition, accessories and provenance before purchase.

About Primare

Primare traces its origins to 1985, when Danish industrial designer and audiophile Bo Christensen, frustrated by the era's cluttered audio gear, founded the company alongside engineer Bent Nielsen. Born in Denmark as Primare Systems AB, it embodied a mission for exceptional sound quality, elegant Scandinavian aesthetics, precise proportions, and intuitive interfaces. Rejecting the industry's short product cycles, Primare pioneered "living products" designed for longevity and evolution, with its debut 928 series—now exhibited in Copenhagen's Designmuseum Denmark—setting a minimalist benchmark against button-heavy contemporaries. A 1993 partnership with Swedish firm Xena, involving Lars Pedersen, propelled the influential 30 series in 1998, cementing its design legacy while shifting manufacturing to southern Sweden.

The brand specializes in high-fidelity separates, excelling in integrated amplifiers, power amplifiers, preamplifiers, CD players, network streamers, and DACs that handle analog, digital, wired, and wireless sources with balanced precision. Iconic lines like the 200, 300, and ongoing 30 and 15 series prioritize simple circuitry and modular upgrades, from tuners and Blu-ray players to modern computer audio solutions, always favoring functionality over gimmicks.

Primare occupies a premium mid-to-high-end niche, revered by discerning buyers for its honest integrity, timeless Scandinavian design, and deeply satisfying performance that endures across decades. Award-winning components, such as the EISA-honored CD32/I32, deliver audiophile purity without ostentation, positioning Primare as a practical choice for those seeking lasting quality over fleeting trends in a market craving authenticity.
