A bit of a sleeper, but A$1,600 is very ambitious for a Rotel RCD-1070. Recent used listings and historical sale chatter cluster much lower: one Sydney example changed hands at A$300, and broader market sightings for the model sit around the equivalent of roughly A$400–A$500 depending on condition; even premium used examples are typically nowhere near this ask.
That said, it’s a well-liked late-era Rotel CD player with a solid reputation for smooth, engaging playback and good transport/build quality, so it can be a worthwhile buy if you specifically want one in top cosmetic shape. “Excellent” condition matters here, but at this price I’d want proof of a fully healthy laser/transport, the original remote, and a clean track record of reading discs quickly and quietly before considering it.
