For a buyer, that means you’d want something exceptional in the package — flawless cosmetics, strong provenance, or meaningful extras — to justify the premium.
That said, this is a respected DAC with a solid reputation for clean, musical conversion and an easy-to-live-with presentation, so the appeal is real if you like the Musical Fidelity house sound. In like_new condition, it could still make sense for someone prioritizing a tidy, ready-to-use piece, but at this level I’d expect a fuller accessory set and ideally proof of careful ownership before paying up.
