Seller's Description

Luxman L-509Z Integrated Amplifier (Solid State) This is the top of the range Integrated Amplifier from Luxman the L-509Z, improving on the fantastic L-509X. The amplifier retails for 18499 and the stores don't discount these as the wait time to get one is 6 months. The amp has just been acquired but reluctantly have to sell as other priorities have come up since I have first ordered it. It is in brand new condition, used for less than 30h, with all original packaging (triple box) and accessories. It is brought through official distributer here in Australia, so covered by warranty by any Luxma

Our Thoughts RADAR AI

Against the recent AUD used-market comps you gave me, A$13,250 lands below the A$13,115 median only by a hair and well under the A$32,756 75th percentile, so this reads as a fair-to-strong buy, not an ambitious ask. It is close enough to the middle of the pack that I’d call it sensibly priced, with enough headroom versus the upper quartile to feel like decent value in a market with wide spread.

The reason to buy is simple: the L-509Z is a seriously respected integrated—muscular, refined, and built for the long haul, with the sort of grip, scale, and tonal polish that makes it easy to live with across a wide range of speakers. At this price, a clean unit with good cosmetics, original remote, and documented low-stress ownership is the sweet spot; if it’s truly “new”/unboxed or effectively mint, that adds real upside because you’re paying used-market money for a top-tier piece with fresh-life appeal.

Independent perspective — not a price guarantee. Always verify condition, accessories and provenance before purchase.

About Luxman

Luxman traces its origins to 1925 in Osaka, Japan, when brothers T. Hayakawa and K. Yoshikawa launched a radio equipment division within their Kinsuido picture frame import business, coinciding with Japan's inaugural radio broadcast. Initially importing components, the company soon pivoted to in-house manufacturing of transformers and switches, birthing the Luxman brand and establishing it as one of Japan's oldest electronic component makers. This heritage of precision engineering has endured through ownership shifts, including stints with Alpine and Samsung, before returning to Japanese hands in the early 2000s under dedicated Luxman Corporation.

The brand specializes in luxury high-end audio components, with a storied emphasis on amplifiers—both integrated and power models—preamplifiers, and receivers renowned for their warm, detailed sound. Luxman also produces turntables, CD players, tape decks, and speakers, alongside modern digital offerings like DACs, all handcrafted in Japan with custom parts and dual-mono designs for ultimate fidelity.

Positioned firmly in the high-end market, Luxman commands respect among discerning audiophiles for its timeless aesthetics, uncompromising build quality, and sonic refinement that bridges vintage warmth with cutting-edge performance. Classics like the 1970s CL-32 preamp and 1980s L-507 integrated amplifier fuel its collector appeal, while contemporary lines reaffirm its status as a boutique benchmark for those seeking "Ultimate Fidelity since 1925."
