Seller's Description

Dynaudio Focus 60 XD Floorstanding Loudspeakers Dynaudio Focus 60 XD Digital Active Loudspeakers with Connect box.   These were bought brand new from Tivoli HiFi in Melbourne in 2018 when I downsized due to circumstances. They have been very well looked after, and sound great. Up until last year these were the current top of the line. My circumstances have changed again, and now I can upgrade to a larger separates system again, and would like someone else to enjoy these great speakers.   The finish is Rosewood dark gloss finish.   With the connect box (included) it is possible to drive them wi

Our Thoughts RADAR AI

This is a buyer’s market for this model at the moment: with a recent used median of A$5,474, the asking price at A$6,750 sits above the 75th percentile of A$6,095, so it reads ambitious rather than fair. It’s not wildly off for a desirable piece, but you’d want a stronger-than-average presentation to justify the premium.

That said, the appeal is real: the Focus 60XD is a serious active floorstander, known for tight control, good scale, and the convenience of built-in amplification and DSP-style voicing that can make placement easier than many passive rivals. If it’s genuinely clean, fully working, and includes the original accessories, that helps; if not, the premium gets harder to defend.

Independent perspective — not a price guarantee. Always verify condition, accessories and provenance before purchase.

About Dynaudio

Dynaudio is a Danish loudspeaker manufacturer founded in 1977 in Skanderborg by acoustic engineers Wilfried Ehrenholz and Mark Thorup, alongside co-founder Ivan Scarning Geard. The company emerged from a conviction that off-the-shelf speakers of the era failed to reproduce music authentically. From its inception, Dynaudio has maintained vertical integration, designing and manufacturing its own drivers rather than sourcing components externally—a practice that remains central to the brand's identity and quality control.

The company specializes exclusively in loudspeakers and speaker systems across two primary markets: high-fidelity consumer audio and professional studio monitoring. Dynaudio's consumer division produces reference-grade speakers for discerning listeners, while its professional subsidiary, Dynaudio Acoustics, manufactures studio monitors installed in more than ten thousand recording studios worldwide. The brand has earned particular distinction as a reference monitor choice for BBC Radio & Music, underscoring its credibility in professional environments.

Dynaudio occupies the high-end segment of the audio market, positioning itself among premium manufacturers rather than mass-market producers. The brand's reputation rests on uncompromising engineering philosophy—prioritizing authentic driver design over superficial aesthetics—and consistent innovation in loudspeaker technology. Since its acquisition by Chinese electronics company Goertek in 2014, Dynaudio has maintained its Danish heritage and manufacturing practices while expanding its global reach. For knowledgeable buyers, Dynaudio represents a convergence of Scandinavian design sensibility, technical rigor, and professional-grade performance in the consumer hi-fi space.
