Seller's Description

McIntosh 7200 Integrated Amplifier (Solid State) Purchased just over a year ago from lifestyle store. We are moving to active speakers, so this beauty is no longer needed. I cannot justify keeping it for a second system, but I would have loved to. Box and papers included, as well as remote. Really great condition. I want to move this quickly, hence the extremely high value offered here. Have a look around and compare yourself. Thanks for looking.   PS I am here until Saturday at 1pm then away in Bali for 2 weeks but my housesitter is a friend who can arrange a time for you to view.     Conditi

Our Thoughts RADAR AI

At A$8,000, this McIntosh 7200 listing is a stunning bargain compared to the typical used market for this powerhouse solid-state amplifier, which generally trades between A$3,500 and A$5,500 in good condition. The asking price sits well below the 25th percentile, making it an excellent deal that rivals what you’d pay for a used modern integrated amp at this level.

The MC7200 is legendary for its 200W per channel (600W in mono) output, delivering McIntosh’s trademark clean, dynamic sound that excels with demanding speakers. Its dual-mono architecture and robust build make it a timeless choice for high-end systems. With no condition concerns noted and original McIntosh pedigree, this is a rare buying opportunity for enthusiasts seeking proven performance without the premium of newer gear.

About McIntosh

McIntosh Laboratory, founded in 1949 in the United States by Frank H. McIntosh and Gordon Gow, embodies a storied heritage of American audio innovation. Originally based in Silver Spring, Maryland, before relocating to Binghamton, New York, where products are still handcrafted today, the brand emerged from a commitment to superior sound reproduction. From powering President Lyndon Johnson's inauguration to the Grateful Dead's Wall of Sound at Woodstock, McIntosh has shaped pivotal moments in music history and pop culture, earning its place as a cultural icon.

The company specializes in a comprehensive lineup of high-fidelity components, including renowned amplifiers—particularly its revered tube models for their warm, enveloping sound—along with solid-state power amps, stereo tuners, loudspeakers, turntables, music streamers, processors, and digital-to-analog converters. This breadth supports both two-channel stereo systems and multi-channel home theaters, delivering immersive experiences in music and film. Iconic blue watt meters on their gear have become globally recognized symbols of precision and power.

Positioned firmly in the high-end market, McIntosh commands respect among discerning audiophiles for its uncompromising quality, luxurious build, and timeless design. Far from mid-tier or niche boutique, it stands as a premium benchmark, favored by legendary musicians and producers across decades, blending vintage allure with modern performance for those who demand the ultimate in sonic fidelity.
