Seller's Description

Chord Electronics Hugo 2 + Hugo 2go + Leather case DAC Hi, selling my Chord Hugo2 DAC, 2go streamer and leather case (including the original cables and boxes). Have had these for a couple of years and has only been used as a headphone rig in the house. The 2go streamer is brilliant and syncs wonderfully with Roon and the battery is in great condition. There are loads of reviews on the Hugo2 and 2go so wont bore with my view other than it provides a wonderfully detailed experience and so easy to use. Have loved this setup but have moved to wireless headphones and back to floorstanders for liste

Our Thoughts RADAR AI

This is fair to slightly ambitious, not a bargain. A clean used Hugo 2 alone commonly sits around A$2,000–A$2,100 in Australia, with a well-priced private-sale example at A$1,650 and another at A$2,055; A$3,000 is only easy to justify if the bundle really includes the matching Hugo headphone amp and useful extras in genuinely good condition.

The upside is real: Hugo 2 is still one of the most respected portable DAC/amps for transparent, highly resolving sound, strong dynamics, and excellent headphone drive, so it remains a serious step-up piece. The buy makes most sense if the package includes the right cables, case, chargers, and box, and if both units are clean with no battery, control, or socket issues; at this price, completeness and condition matter enough to ask for a careful demo before committing.

Independent perspective — not a price guarantee. Always verify condition, accessories and provenance before purchase.

About Chord Electronics

Chord Electronics, a British high-fidelity powerhouse, traces its roots to the aviation industry. Founded in 1989 by John Franks, a former Marconi Avionics engineer, the company emerged from his early 1980s innovations in ultra-reliable, high-frequency switching power supplies for aircraft electronics. Initially too costly for commercial viability, the designs became feasible with advancing components, launching Chord from its Kent headquarters in a renovated pumphouse that remains its manufacturing heart.

The brand excels in premium amplifiers and digital-to-analog converters (DACs), blending Franks' analog prowess with digital expertise from FPGA specialist Rob Watts. Early power amplifiers quickly won acclaim from professional studios like the BBC, Abbey Road, and Skywalker Sound, establishing credibility before shifting focus to consumer hi-fi. Iconic products like the Hugo and Mojo DACs exemplify their boundary-pushing approach, alongside integrated amps and streamers, all handcrafted in the UK without compromise on power, precision, or musicality.

Positioned firmly in the high-end market, Chord commands respect among discerning audiophiles for its uncompromising engineering, aerospace-grade reliability, and bold innovation. Independent and proudly British, it sets benchmarks in transparency and dynamics, attracting buyers who demand reference-level performance over mass-market concessions.
