Seller's Description

Simaudio Moon 240i Integrated Amplifier (Solid State) Selling my Simaudio Moon 240i Integrated amplifier with all original packaging in pretty mint condition.   I have had this amp about a year and it amazingly took over in my main system.   The DAC and Phono are great. It has driven every speaker I have thrown at it with ease to louder than I could bare to listen to for longer periods. It has been on JBL 4430, Tannoy Arden, JBL 4411, Dynaudio Excite, big Paradigms, Yamaha NS1000 and did very well   Will ship to Eastern majors for $50 and will ship nationally   Info here.... https://simaudio.c

Our Thoughts RADAR AI

The Simaudio Moon 240i is listed at AUD $2,600 with unknown condition, which places it below your comparable median of AUD $3,431—potentially a strong value if the unit checks out. This integrated amp typically trades in the AUD $2,800–4,200 range depending on condition and market, so at asking price it's positioned as a buyer-friendly entry point, though the unknown condition flag is a material risk. You're paying a discount, but that discount exists for a reason.

Before committing, verify the amp powers on cleanly without hum or oscillation, and confirm all inputs and the volume control respond smoothly across their range. Simaudio's 240i is solidly built, but check for any blown output transistors (listen for distortion at moderate levels) and confirm the remote functions if it's included—replacement remotes are expensive. Request the serial number and contact Simaudio directly to confirm warranty status and service history; a unit serviced recently is worth more peace of mind than an unknown orphan, even at this price.

Independent perspective — not a price guarantee. Always verify condition, accessories and provenance before purchase.

About Moon by Simaudio

Moon by Simaudio traces its roots to 1980, when Victor Sima, an audio engineer who emigrated from Israel to Canada, founded Sima Electronique in Quebec with a deliberate mission to craft superior-sounding audio products at accessible prices. Initially targeting professionals, the brand quickly won over audiophiles for its value and sonic excellence. Sima retired in 1994, selling to Jean Poulin, whose leadership elevated the company; by the late 1990s, the premium MOON series emerged from the successful Celeste line, embodying innovation and engineering precision while remaining privately held for unwavering control.

The brand specializes in high-performance electronics, excelling in integrated and power amplifiers, preamplifiers, DACs, and streaming solutions that prioritize musicality and build quality. Hand-assembled in-house with custom chassis and rigorous burn-in testing, MOON products span reference-grade separates to all-in-one systems like the ACE, alongside multi-channel AV amplifiers. While not venturing into speakers, turntables, headphones, or cables, their focus on pure analog and digital playback delivers cosmic precision and futuristic design.

Positioned firmly in the high-end market, Moon by Simaudio commands respect among discerning buyers for its clear, natural sound that makes music visceral rather than tweaky. Exported to 45 countries with accolades from Stereophile and The Absolute Sound, it rejects mass-market compromises, offering approachable luxury that bridges specialist hi-fi with broader appeal—vibrantly successful today as a Canadian benchmark for uncompromising performance.
