Seller's Description

Jamo D590 - 50th Anniversary Limited Edition Floorstanding Loudspeakers An immaculate pair of Jamo D590 50th Anniversary Limited Edition speakers in beautiful Walnut colour.   I purchased these new 3 years ago but have rarely been used in the last 2 years.   Not a mark on them, and glass tops are perfect.  All drivers and tweeters perfect.  Basically just run-in.   I have found them to be very satisfying, and very forgiving speakers.  They lean to the warm side and have a very satisfying bass response.  Excellent for Metal and Female Vocals, which can sound very shrill on many speakers I have

Our Thoughts RADAR AI

This is a modern-ish limited run rather than a vintage oddity, so timing matters less than condition and provenance. At AUD 1,650, it looks very fair for an as-new pair against the current AUD 3,290 RRP; used value on these tends to cluster well below retail, and this sits in the “good buy” zone rather than feeling stretched.

The appeal is easy to understand: the D590 is a big, lively 3-way floorstander with a proper sense of scale, solid bass from the 8-inch woofer, and a smooth top end that suits both music and home cinema. The walnut finish and glass tops are part of the draw, and “all drivers perfect” is exactly what you want to hear on a speaker of this type. If the packing, spikes/grilles, and any original paperwork are included, that’s a nice bonus; otherwise this still reads as a clean, enthusiast-friendly buy.

Independent perspective — not a price guarantee. Always verify condition, accessories and provenance before purchase.

About Jamo

Jamo traces its roots to 1968 in the small Danish village of Glingor, northern Jutland, where carpenter Preben Jakobsen and his partner Mortensen launched the brand from a modest workshop. Named from the founders' surnames, Jamo quickly expanded, building its first factory by 1970 and debuting at the 1973 IFA exhibition. Danish design principles—emphasizing simplicity, elegance, and precision engineering—propelled it from humble beginnings to Europe's largest speaker manufacturer, blending Scandinavian aesthetics with breakthrough audio technologies.

The brand has long specialized in loudspeakers, from iconic hi-fi models to pioneering home theater systems, earning a milestone as the first in the EMEA region to achieve THX certification in 1991 with its THX ONE setup. While speakers remain its hallmark, Jamo's portfolio has evolved to encompass high-fidelity systems, connected solutions, and lifestyle products, always prioritizing performance-driven sound.

Positioned as a mid-tier powerhouse with premium aspirations, Jamo dominated the European market through the 1990s and 2000s under various ownerships, including Klipsch, before a 2024 acquisition by Chinese firms Cinemaster and Rayleigh Lab. This revival honors its Nordic heritage—retaining some Danish production—while modernizing for today's audiophiles, appealing to discerning buyers seeking value-packed, stylish hi-fi without ultra-high-end prices.
