Seller's Description

Primare NP5 Prisma Streamer Primare NP5 streamer in great used condition. This is a MK1 version and was bought new in October 2020.   Originally used it with my Primaluna  Dialogue pre/power combo (also for sale and listed soon) and more recently with a headphone setup (...also for sale 🙂). Works well and never had an issue with it, although I trimmed a 'wing' from the power supply to have it better fit in my powerboard. This hasn't effected the function of the supply.   Happy to supply a Wireworld Ultraviolet 8 1m coaxial cable for $40.   Thanks! Condition: Great Used Payment Method: Eftpos,

Our Thoughts RADAR AI

Fair to slightly strong, but not a bad buy if it’s complete and working cleanly. Against your recent comparable AUD listings, A$400 sits below the median A$437 and just under the lower quartile-to-middle of the pack, so this is more sensible than ambitious. For a used NP5 Prisma, I’d think of a typical asking band around A$416–A$458, with A$400 a modest discount if the seller can show it’s healthy.

Before buying, verify the unit powers up reliably, stays on network, and connects properly to Prisma/streaming services after a factory reset. Also check what’s included: PSU, box, mounting bits, and whether firmware is current. The NP5 is generally low-risk, but you want to rule out flaky ethernet/Wi‑Fi behavior, app control issues, or a dead unit being sold “unknown condition” without proper testing.

Independent perspective — not a price guarantee. Always verify condition, accessories and provenance before purchase.

About Primare

Primare traces its origins to 1985, when Danish industrial designer and audiophile Bo Christensen, frustrated by the era's cluttered audio gear, founded the company alongside engineer Bent Nielsen. Born in Denmark as Primare Systems AB, it embodied a mission for exceptional sound quality, elegant Scandinavian aesthetics, precise proportions, and intuitive interfaces. Rejecting the industry's short product cycles, Primare pioneered "living products" designed for longevity and evolution, with its debut 928 series—now exhibited in Copenhagen's Designmuseum Denmark—setting a minimalist benchmark against button-heavy contemporaries. A 1993 partnership with Swedish firm Xena, involving Lars Pedersen, propelled the influential 30 series in 1998, cementing its design legacy while shifting manufacturing to southern Sweden.

The brand specializes in high-fidelity separates, excelling in integrated amplifiers, power amplifiers, preamplifiers, CD players, network streamers, and DACs that handle analog, digital, wired, and wireless sources with balanced precision. Iconic lines like the 200, 300, and ongoing 30 and 15 series prioritize simple circuitry and modular upgrades, from tuners and Blu-ray players to modern computer audio solutions, always favoring functionality over gimmicks.

Primare occupies a premium mid-to-high-end niche, revered by discerning buyers for its honest integrity, timeless Scandinavian design, and deeply satisfying performance that endures across decades. Award-winning components, such as the EISA-honored CD32/I32, deliver audiophile purity without ostentation, positioning Primare as a practical choice for those seeking lasting quality over fleeting trends in a market craving authenticity.
