Seller's Description

Neumann KH120A Studio Monitors For sale is one pair of Neumann KH120A studio monitors. The price shown is for the pair.   Condition is like new. Purchased new by me 2 years ago. These have never seen any hard use. I used them on the minimum gain setting for near field listening at my desk while working from home. I like them so much I actually considered keeping them but we are trying to minimise the amount of stuff we will have to move when we resettle.   Includes all original accessories, paperwork and original shipping cartons.   Will need to ship each unit separately.   See my other ads fo

Our Thoughts RADAR AI

At A$1,100, this is well above the recent used benchmark for this model, where comparable AUD listings cluster around a median of A$538 and only reach A$653 at the 75th percentile. That makes it an ambitious asking price rather than a fair-market buy, even allowing for a clean condition and local pickup convenience.

That said, the KH120A is a genuinely respected nearfield monitor: tight imaging, very even midrange, and the kind of honest, low-fatigue sound that suits mixing and serious listening. If it’s truly like-new, ideally with original packaging and accessories, the value case improves a bit for a buyer who specifically wants this model, but at this level I’d still want room to negotiate.

Independent perspective — not a price guarantee. Always verify condition, accessories and provenance before purchase.

About Neumann

Neumann traces its origins to Berlin, Germany, where Georg Neumann and Erich Rickmann founded the company in 1928. Initially focused on pioneering condenser microphones, such as the groundbreaking CMV 3—nicknamed "The Bottle"—Neumann quickly established itself as an innovator amid the early days of professional audio. Despite wartime disruptions that split production and led to the creation of Microtech Gefell, Georg Neumann rebuilt in post-war Berlin, launching the iconic U 47 tube-condenser microphone, which solidified the brand's legacy in recording history.

The brand specializes in professional recording equipment, renowned for its high-end condenser microphones like the U 47, U 67, and U 87, which dominate studios worldwide. Beyond mics, Neumann produces studio monitors, headphones, preamplifiers, audio interfaces such as the recent MT 48, and historically excelled in cutting lathes for mastering. This pro-audio emphasis sets it apart from consumer hi-fi categories like amplifiers, turntables, or cables.

Neumann commands an elite position in the market as the gold standard for professional recording, embodying precision engineering and unmatched fidelity prized by engineers and producers. Its products grace legendary sessions, blending vintage reverence with modern reliability, making it essential for discerning hi-fi enthusiasts seeking studio-grade accuracy rather than mid-tier or boutique consumer gear.
