Esoteric’s C-03Xs sits in the serious end of the line, and £10,500 is fair-to-strong rather than cheap. New pricing for the earlier C-03/C-03X family landed around the £8,000-£10,000 level in USD-era launch pricing, while current EU asking prices I could find for the C-03Xs are roughly £13,000-£14,000, so this used listing looks meaningfully below typical dealer money without being a giveaway.
That makes it a good buy if the condition is genuinely excellent and it’s complete. The C-03Xs is well regarded for its very low-noise, highly resolving presentation, with loads of control, weight and refinement, and it’s a preamp that tends to reward a revealing system. At this price, I’d want the original remote, packaging and proof of service history, but if those are in place this is the kind of high-end preamp purchase that can make a system feel immediately more serious.
