Pioneer PLX-1000 Turntable I think that these are great turntables for the money. It’s built like a tank at >13kg, it has fantastic torque and stops and starts very fast, zero bearing noise, bearings on the tonearm are great. There aren’t many introductory level turntables that do all of that while delivering a driving, open sound. Fit this up with a good cartridge (such as the one below) and some good quality ICs and some resonance control and you’ll have a winner starter 'table for the $$.
