Compared with buying new at this level, A$2,250 is a strong buy: it sits just under the A$2,247 25th percentile of recent comparable listings and well below the A$2,507 median. For a like-new example, that’s properly attractive rather than merely fair, especially if the seller is local and the deck can be inspected in person.
The Planar 6 is a genuinely good “serious upgrade” turntable: fast, rhythmically sure, low on coloration, and it scales very well with a better cartridge and phono stage. If it’s complete with dust cover, power supply, and original packaging, the value improves further. At this price, I’d be focused more on confirming bearing health, belt condition, and arm setup than worrying about the listing itself.
