Seller's Description

PIONEER PL-50L:A handsome and technically advanced "Golden Era" turntable!Item DescriptionThe PL-50L is a record player that inherits the technology developed in the PL-70, a high-end model and refines the sound quality. The PL-50L has a silent lift-up mechanism that produces no mechanical noise. The elevation mechanism that raises and lowers the arm uses a moving coil system based on the operating principle of a speaker and is operated without contact with DC voltage. The end position of the record groove is detected by a Hall element and magnet inside the arm shaft for non-contact detection, which does not generate side pressure and does not impair the sensitivity of the arm. To pursue the limit of rotational accuracy, the SH-rotor type motor is adopted, in which the fulcrum (bearing) of the rotor at the bottom of the motor is moved to just below the turntable, thereby successfully matching the center of gravity of the motor with the position of the fulcrum. This turntable is in Good condition, with some wear throughout (please see photos), including some scratches, scuffs and oxidized on metal part (please see pictures). The dust cover has some scratches (please see pictures and refer to the dust cover policy below). **The front panel of the dust cover is warped and comes into contact with the turntable unit, but this does not affect its use. This turntable has been thoroughly checked and tested by our professional technician, confirming its flawless operation.Additional InformationTechnical SpecificationsSerial : BC11345TCountry/Region of Manufacture : JAPAN Power Supply : 100V 13W 50/60 Hz Accessories -YAMAHA Headshell / YAMAHA CG-6600Cartridge-Dust Cover-Rubber mat -Hinges-45 adopterCartridge & Headshell PolicyCartridge and styluses are free gifts, so we don't accept returns or refunds for damage of cartridges and styluses.Dust Cover PolicyThough it is unlikely to happen due to our meticulous packaging procedures, turntable dust covers do occasionally break in transit. About Pioneer

Pioneer traces its roots to 1937 in Tokyo, Japan, when founder Nozomu Matsumoto, inspired by the thrill of imported hi-fi speakers, developed the A-8 dynamic speaker and launched a radio and speaker repair shop. The business formalized as Fukuin Shokai Denki Seisakusho in 1938, evolving into Pioneer Corporation and embodying Matsumoto's philosophy of "Move the Heart and Touch the Soul" through audio innovation.

The brand excels across diverse hi-fi categories, pioneering Japan's first headphones in 1960 with the SE-1 and the world's first component-based stereo system in 1965 via the PSC-5A. Pioneer's portfolio spans amplifiers, speakers, turntables, and DACs, alongside landmark car audio advancements like the 1975 Supertuner-equipped stereo and the 1986 in-car CD player, blending home and automotive excellence.

Today, Pioneer holds a commanding mid-to-high-tier position in the market, revered for reliable, performance-driven gear that balances premium quality with accessibility. Its vintage components attract collectors, while current offerings appeal to discerning buyers seeking robust, innovative sound reproduction without boutique excess.
