This is a seller’s market, and A$4,000 is ambitious for a used Violectric HPA V281 LE. Typical used pricing for the original V281 has been more like A$2,300–A$3,200 once you account for overseas examples and the Australian asking at A$3,299 for the Final Edition; the LE’s current-new street pricing is around A$4,400 equivalent, so A$4,000 sits too close to new unless this one is exceptionally clean and fully loaded.
That said, the V281 line is well regarded for strong current delivery, big headroom, and a refined, low-fatigue presentation that suits demanding planars and high-impedance dynamics alike. If this unit includes the remote, original box, and is in genuinely excellent condition, it’s a serious amp rather than a toy, but at this number I’d want proof of near-mint condition and complete accessories before paying up.
