Seller's Description

This turntable is for local pickup only at our shop in Milwaukee, WI.This is a vintage Micro Seiki DD-35 turntable. This a remarkably well-preserved 48 year-old direct drive turntable. Were it not for a a few tiny corner dents (shown in photos) this thing would yield an Excellent rating. Otherwise this deck is rather minty, regardless of age. It works and sounds just as great as it looks. Just back from our local turntable tech who:Balanced the tonearmAdjusted the cueing leverReplaced the original RCA connectors with new, modern RCA jacksService History: No service records were included from the prior, original owner but we do have the original receipt and manual. Our local tech did the bulleted points above.Cosmetic Condition: Overall we rated this at Very Good, with very small signs of wear.In the Milwaukee Area? Stop in our shop to inspect/demo.

Our Thoughts RADAR AI

At US$950, this lands just above your US$895 median and right at the US$950 75th percentile, so it reads as fair-to-strong rather than a bargain. It is not a steal on the numbers alone, but it is still squarely in-market for a desirable vintage deck with a cartridge included.

What makes it worthwhile is the appeal of a well-regarded Micro Seiki direct-drive table: these are usually bought for speed stability, solid build, and audiophile credibility rather than flash. The excellent condition and local pickup are both positive, and having an Audio-Technica cartridge already mounted adds real day-one value. If the dust cover, arm bearings, cueing, and platter start/stop behavior are all clean, this looks like a good buy.

Independent perspective — not a price guarantee. Always verify condition, accessories and provenance before purchase.

About Micro Seiki

Micro Seiki was a Japanese precision-engineering company founded in Tokyo in 1961. Its heritage is firmly rooted in the analog era, and the brand became especially associated with technically ambitious, well-made turntables and related vinyl hardware rather than a broad consumer-audio catalogue.

The company is best known for turntables, turntable drives, plinths, and tonearms, along with a smaller amount of electrostatic headphone production in its earlier years. Sources consistently describe Micro Seiki as a maker of mid- to high-end and later reference-class turntables, with models that became especially prized by serious vinyl listeners.

In market terms, Micro Seiki sits in the high-end vintage and collector category. It is not a current mainstream audio brand in the modern sense; instead, it is remembered as a legendary specialist name, with its most sought-after decks and components commanding strong interest among analog enthusiasts and collectors.
