Seller's Description

Audio-Technica AT-LP7X Belt-Drive Turntable Product Description:The Audio-Technica AT-LP7X is a fully manual belt-drive turntable that blends analog excellence with modern versatility and refined style. Designed for serious vinyl enthusiasts and audiophiles seeking precision playback with room to grow, it delivers a listening experience that's as clean and detailed as its elegant matte-black appearance. At the foundation is a heavy 40mm MDF (medium density fiberboard) plinth that minimizes low-frequency resonance and acoustical feedback. The 20mm high-density acrylic platter sits atop a stainless steel spindle with a thermal-plastic sheet-type bearing, providing high rotational inertia for consistent speed and vibration dampening that lets the brilliance of your records shine through — no platter mat required. The 9.7-inch J-shaped aluminum tonearm, inspired by classic Audio-Technica designs of the 1960s and '70s, features a dual-axis gimbal with precision ball bearings for exceptionally smooth, accurate tracking. It comes equipped with the AT-LT10 headshell and AT-VM95E BK (black) cartridge with a 0.3 x 0.7 mil elliptical stylus, delivering excellent channel separation and low distortion. The tonearm's VTA (vertical tracking angle) is fully adjustable, and the included 16g subcounterweight supports cartridge/headshell combinations up to 23.5g — or up to 28.5g with the optional 32g subcounterweight (sold separately). The turntable's DC servo motor is monitored by an optical speed-sensor system for continuously accurate rotation at 33-1/3 or 45 RPM. The motor is mounted on vibration-dampening rubber bushings to decouple it from the plinth, and an external switching power supply isolates AC-to-DC conversion to eliminate electrical interference. Spring-based, height-adjustable isolation feet provide further protection against external vibration.A built-in switchable phono pre-amplifier supports both MM (moving magnet) and MC (moving coil) cartridges, giving you the flexibility to connect directly to powered speakers, integrated amplifiers, or dedicated phono stages. The AT-LP7X includes a detachable RCA output cable, 45 RPM adapter, and a removable hinged dust cover.Product Features:Fully Manual Belt-Drive Operation – Two speeds: 33-1/3 and 45 RPM for LP and single playbackHeavy 40mm MDF Cabinet – Dense construction minimizes resonance and vibration for cleaner sound20mm High-Density Acrylic Platter – Dampens vibrations for quiet, detailed playback (no mat needed)J-Shaped Aluminum Tonearm – 9.7″ arm with dual-axis gimbal and precision ball bearings for superior trackingAT-VM95E BK Cartridge Included – Pre-mounted on AT-LT10 headshell with 0.3 x 0.7 mil elliptical stylusAdjustable VTA – Fine-tune vertical tracking angle for optimal cartridge performanceBuilt-In Switchable Phono Pre-Amp (MM/MC) – Connect to any system with or without a dedicated phono inputOptical Speed-Sensor Motor System – Maintains continuously accurate platter rotation speedExternal DC Power Supply – Isolates AC-to-DC conversion to prevent electrical interferenceSpring-Based Height-Adjustable Isolation Feet – Excellent protection against external vibration and noiseProduct Specifications: SpecificationDetailBrandAudio-TechnicaModelAT-LP7XTypeFully Manual Belt-Drive TurntableColorMatte BlackMotorDC Servo with Optical Speed SensorDrive SystemBelt-DriveSpeeds33-1/3 RPM, 45 RPMPlatter20mm High-Density AcrylicPlinth40mm MDF (Medium Density Fiberboard)TonearmJ-Shaped Aluminum, 9.7″, Dual-Axis GimbalCartridgeAT-VM95E BK (0.3 x 0.7 mil Elliptical Stylus)HeadshellAT-LT10 (removable)VTA AdjustmentYesCartridge/Headshell Weight Range Up to 23.5g (28.5g with optional 32g subcounterweight)Built-In Phono Pre-AmpYes (switchable MM/MC)Pre-Amp GainMM: 36 dB / MC: 56 dB (RIAA Equalized)Phono Output4.0 mV (1 kHz, 5 cm/sec)Line Output252 mV (1 kHz, 5 cm/sec)Wow & Flutter<0.1% (WTD, JIS)Signal-to-Noise Ratio>60 dBPower SupplyExternal 12V DC Switching AdapterPower Consumption5.5WOutput CableDetachable RCA (dual RCA + ground, ~4.3′)Product Dimensions18″ W × 14″ D × 6.2″ HWeight~17 lbs (7.6 kg)Use CaseHi-fi listening, vinyl playback, cartridge experimentation

About Audio-Technica

Founded in 1962 in Tokyo's Shinjuku district by Hideo Matsushita, Audio-Technica began as a phonograph cartridge specialist, launching the innovative AT-1 moving-magnet model with a diamond-tipped cantilever that revolutionized affordable high-fidelity playback. Starting with just three employees in a rented house and one million yen in capital, the company quickly expanded, supplying cartridges to Japanese audio manufacturers and relocating as demand surged. This heritage of precision engineering and democratic access to superior sound defines its enduring Japanese craftsmanship.

Audio-Technica has broadened far beyond cartridges into a comprehensive lineup of hi-fi essentials, excelling in headphones, professional microphones, turntables, and phonographic styli. While not heavily focused on amplifiers, speakers, or DACs, it produces elite receivers, wireless systems, and cables, alongside OEM transducers and sensors for pro audio. Its turntables and headphones span entry-level to audiophile grades, with Bluetooth and noise-cancelling models bridging consumer and studio needs.

Renowned for delivering exceptional value through durable, innovative design, Audio-Technica occupies a solid mid-tier position in the hi-fi market, prized by enthusiasts for reliability without extravagant pricing. It garners consistent awards for performance and builds trust via Olympic-grade microphones and global subsidiaries, appealing to discerning buyers seeking proven engineering over boutique exclusivity.
