The Rega Apollo is a high-performance, entry-level, Made in the UK, CD player widely praised for its "analog-like" warmth and tactile top-loading design. This is above market: at US$600, it sits above the 75th percentile of US$537 and about US$126 over the median of US$474, so I’d call it ambitious rather than fair based on recent comparable USD listings. It is not absurdly out of line, but it needs something extra—exceptional condition, recent service, or strong accessories—to justify the premium.
The upside with this model is that Rega’s CD players are widely liked for their timing, drive, and musically engaging presentation, so a clean Apollo can still be a very satisfying listen. If the tray, display, and disc read are all solid, and it comes with the remote and original packaging, that helps; otherwise, at this price I’d want clear proof it’s been well cared for, since older disc spinners are only as good as their transport health.
