Pioneer SX-950 85-Watt Stereo Solid-State Receiver 1976 - 1978 - Silver faced Professionally restored.

Vintage Pioneer SX-950 from 1976-78. Professional painstakingly fully restored and serviced. Boards cleaned, inspected & recapped, Main filter capacitors tested and within specifications. The ASR-019 speaker relay has been replaced using a new Omron relay. The Main Amp, Tone board, Flat Amp, Equalizer Board, Power Supply, Receiver board, & Protection boards: Replaced most electrolytic capacitors, diodes, and known high power and problematic transistors with new upgrades (Nichicon, Panasonic, Vishay, Wima, Wurth, and On-Semi) components from Digikey/Mouser electronics. Lower Uf capacitors replaced with poly type to minimize noise and distortion. The heat sinks cleaned, synthetic heat sink compound used on mounted transistors. The pots on the Amplifier board were replaced with precision Bourns, all switches and potentiometers were cleaned and deoxited with Caig Deoxit products. The functions work perfectly. DC Offset & Bias adjusted per Pioneer service manual. Cover has an oiled walnut veneer finish in outstanding condition (see photos) a beautiful receiver treated with Howard's wood treatment and Citrus wax. The faceplate & knobs have been cleaned & polished. The knobs are in excellent condition. The top and faceplate bezel has a few minor scratches. (See photos ) Original lights replaced with cool blue LEDs. If you prefer white LEDs or the originals, I'll include those. This receiver sounds and looks amazing as all 50 series receivers do. As good as new if not better. I have the pictures of components replaced and can provide a Digikey / Mouser receipts for parts utilized in this restoration. Based off components utilized with previously noted improvements, output power exceeds original ratings for this Pioneer SX 950 receiver. A total of 131 components replaced.
