US$285 is ambitious for a Sanyo RD 220 if this is the cassette deck, and it’s hard to call it strong value without proof of service and full working condition. Comparable sold pricing I can see is much lower, with one deck bringing US$35; even allowing for big condition differences, US$285 sits well above the typical used range for this model.
What makes it worth considering is that Sanyo’s late-vintage components can be surprisingly competent when properly serviced, and a clean, original deck can still be a nice match for a period system. But at this price, I’d want recent playback/record test results, verified belt/idler health, and photos of the heads and transport. If none of that is provided, treat it as a high-risk ask rather than a bargain.
