Comparable serviced A-X740-class Pioneers have shown up around US$250 to US$270, and an A-X700 benchmark with similar family DNA sits in the same general lane, so US$302 is above where I’d expect a clean but ordinary example to land.
That said, these late-’80s Pioneer integrateds are nicely built, lively, and musically capable, with good phono and plenty of everyday drive for efficient speakers. If this unit is genuinely clean, quiet, and fully functional, the premium can make sense for a ready-to-play piece. I’d just want proof of recent service and confirmation that all controls and inputs behave properly before paying top-ish money.
