Seller's Description

I am selling a few things from my audiophile closet… here is a NAD M4 tuner, absolutely 100% mint (I would rarely say this, believe me, but this was used for about a week until I bagged a really nice McIntosh MR-74 which I couldn’t resist) and it does not have a single mark on it. rated as a 9 only because of the rules. My understanding is that this tuner is a somewhat updated version of their current C427 tuner. Will guarantee that all features work correctly. I will unload this piece for $950. Includes the box, all packing materials, original remote, power cable, and manual.. Thanks for looking!Retail Price: USD $1600.00Shipping Weight: 31.50 (lbs)Shipping Dimension: 17.00in x 12.00in x 5.00in

Our Thoughts RADAR AI

This is a seller’s market for used power cables, and $780 USD is an ambitious price for a used NAD M4 power cable, far exceeding the typical $200–$350 USD range for high-end audio cords like the iFi SupaNova ($349 USD) or Nova ($209 USD). Even if the M4 is a rare or original NAD-branded cable, no credible used-market data supports nearly triple the price of comparable premium cords; this listing sits well above the 75th percentile for the category and reads as overpriced.

The NAD M4 amplifier itself is well-regarded for its clean power delivery and robust build, but a power cable alone—even one branded by NAD—doesn’t justify $780 USD unless it’s a verified original, factory-matched, and includes rare accessories or documentation. Without proof of originality or unique performance claims, this is not a buying opportunity; it’s a price that demands skepticism. A fair deal for a top-tier used cable would be $250–$350 USD, not $780 USD.

Independent perspective — not a price guarantee. Always verify condition, accessories and provenance before purchase.

About NAD

NAD Electronics was founded in 1972 in London by a group of European audio importers frustrated with the hype surrounding Japanese hi-fi products. Led by visionary American executive Martin L. Borish and brilliant engineer Bjorn Erik Edvardsen, the company emerged from a quest to deliver high-performance audio at accessible prices. Their breakthrough came with the NAD 3020 integrated amplifier, the best-selling hi-fi amp in history, which embodied a philosophy of stripping away non-essentials to prioritize pure sound quality.

The brand focuses on core hi-fi categories, excelling in amplifiers—pioneering Class A/B, Class G, and hybrid digital designs—alongside integrated receivers, AV processors, turntables, CD and cassette players, and modern streamers. While not venturing into speakers, headphones, or cables, NAD emphasizes source components and amplification that integrate seamlessly into home theater and custom installation setups, always upholding principles of innovation, simplicity, performance, and value.

Today, as part of Canada's Lenbrook Group and sold in over 80 countries, NAD holds a commanding mid-tier position in the market, revered by audiophiles for affordable excellence rather than ultra-high-end excess. Its "Truth in Power" legacy earns cult status among knowledgeable buyers seeking reliable, award-winning gear that punches above its price, blending vintage heritage with contemporary streaming and hybrid tech.
