The sonic excellence and good looks of these iconic speakers is well known. This is is the top of the line current model still being produced by Magnepan. Selling these as I replaced with smaller "Wife Approved" speakers. :) Current new price is $22,995 plus Crossover Upgrade. Bonus: This set has a $3000 Crossover Upgrade! Magnepan offers a similar crossover upgrade - for $8,000, not 3,000! The Crossover Upgrade in this pair includes VH Audio ODAM caps,etc. ODAM caps are one of the best caps available, and probably the best that will fit. Crossover Upgrade improvements: 1. The clarity of sound was vastly improved. 2. Instruments each had their own location / presence in space. (depends on recordings as usual.) 3. Sounds even more real. Flaws: Minor "pilling" (small bumps) of fabric near bottom of one speaker. Not noticeable from listening seats. (And yes, the grill cloth can be replaced from Magnepan if desired.) Minor ding in one of the bases. Original boxes and packing, except for the bases box.
