These speakers are brand new in the box. They are the glossy black color. The last 2 photos of the speakers were taken from the Bowers & Wilkins website. Shipping cost is for BOTH speakers together. I DID open one box and connected one speaker just to see how they sound. VERY NICE! BUT, for now, I'm gonna stick with my Klipsch Heresy IV's. Also, as stunning as the glossy black finish is on the Bowers, I still prefer the look of cherry wood. Also, I determined the shipping costs by using the zip code farthest from my city, but still in the lower 48 states.SHIPPING TO LOWER 48 STATES ONLY! NO INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING! SELLER DETERMINES SHIPPING METHOD!
Notable mostly because it’s a current-production floorstander, but the asking price is US$5,800, which is well above the recent used anchor points for this model. Against your database, that sits far over the US$3,187 75th percentile and massively above the US$626 median, so this reads as an ambitious ask rather than a fair-market buy.
The upside is that this is a respected speaker line: the 703 S3 is known for clear imaging, lively dynamics, and a refined top end that rewards good amplification and room setup. If the listing is truly brand new with full packing and warranty support, that helps—but at this level I’d want strong proof of new-in-box status, since used-market value is nowhere near this figure.

Bowers & Wilkins traces its origins to 1966 in Worthing, West Sussex, England, when John Bowers, a passionate audio enthusiast and former electronics shop owner, founded the company with the help of a £10,000 bequest from a satisfied customer, Miss Knight. Bowers, who had honed his speaker-building skills as a hobby while running a radio and TV rental shop with partner Roy Wilkins, launched the venture from the back of that very shop. This modest beginning fueled a relentless pursuit of audio perfection, establishing Bowers & Wilkins as a British icon in high-fidelity sound reproduction.
The brand excels in premium loudspeakers, from flagship studio monitors like the legendary 801 series—adopted by Abbey Road Studios in 1979—to accessible Domestic Monitor lines such as the enduring 600 Series. Its portfolio has expanded to encompass high-end headphones, including the iconic P5 and Zeppelin designs, alongside wireless speakers and formation systems, all emphasizing advanced driver technology, precision cabinetry, and Continuum cones for unparalleled clarity.
Positioned firmly in the high-end market, Bowers & Wilkins commands respect among discerning audiophiles for its engineering excellence, musical accuracy, and heritage of innovation. Far from mid-tier or niche, it rivals the elite, blending cutting-edge research from facilities like Steyning with a reputation for reference-grade performance that defines luxury hi-fi.
