Bang & Olufsen is renowned for their visual design as much as their sound design and these wall-mount speakers are sharp looking--if a bit worn--but they still sound great. A majority of B&O gear must be paired with other B&O items due to proprietary connection and cabling issues but these speakers will 'play' with any standard amp/receiver, B&O or not. They also have matching serial numbers. One of the speaker grilles has a small hole or two but can only really be seen up close (see final pic with quarter for scale). Since they're built for wall mounting, it'd be tough to see the holes anyway. Cosmetic Condition: Overall we rated these at Good, with little signs of wear.In the Milwaukee Area? At US$175, this Bang & Olufsen Model 6514 Wall Speakers listing is a strong bargain, sitting well below the 25th percentile of US$134 and far under the median of US$259 from 240 recent comparable USD listings. While new B&O speakers like the BeoSound 28 can cost significantly more, this vintage pair offers premium Danish design at a fraction of current market entry, making it an exceptional value for enthusiasts seeking authentic hi-fi aesthetics without the new-price burden.
The Model 6514 is well-regarded for its wall-mounted elegance and warm, balanced sound that defined B&O’s mid-century audio philosophy. These speakers deliver meaningful upside through their rarity, original-owner condition, and timeless build quality—ideal for integrating vintage style into modern setups. With no mentioned caveats and a price that signals a genuine deal, this is a clear buying opportunity for collectors who value heritage audio at a fair, even aggressive, price point.

Bang & Olufsen was founded on November 17, 1925, in Struer, Denmark, by engineers Peter Bang and Svend Olufsen. The company began in the attic of the Olufsen family manor, Quistrup, where the founders developed The Eliminator—a revolutionary device that allowed radios to operate from mains electricity rather than batteries. This innovation established B&O as a forward-thinking manufacturer and set the tone for nearly a century of technological advancement rooted in Danish design principles.
The brand is primarily known for premium audio and home entertainment systems, including high-fidelity receivers, radiograms, cassette recorders, and contemporary loudspeakers. B&O pioneered several category firsts: the world's first button-operated receiver in the 1930s and Europe's first cassette recorder, the Beocord-84U, in the 1950s. Today, the company manufactures integrated audio systems, wireless speakers, and headphones that blend acoustic engineering with sculptural industrial design.
Bang & Olufsen occupies the luxury segment of the audio market, positioned as a premium lifestyle brand rather than a specialist audiophile manufacturer. The company's reputation rests on its distinctive philosophy of merging form and function—treating audio equipment as crafted objects designed to enhance living spaces aesthetically. Recognized by the Museum of Modern Art in New York and maintained as a visionary enterprise for over a century, B&O appeals to discerning consumers who value Scandinavian design sensibility alongside sonic performance.
