Seller's Description

One (1) pair of vintage Rockford Fosgate The Punch SP-812 8 Ohms subwoofer speakers – Tested & working

With our uncle passing away, we inherited some audio, video, and computer/networking gear that includes these two (2) – one pair of Rockford Fosgate the Punch 12” SP-812 8 Ohms subwoofer speakers.

I connected them to the amp on my workbench and they sound great – Tested & working. They sound pretty good in fact for being from the 1990’s. The cones do have a slight “dent” that you can pull out easily based on the online directions, but to my ears the still sounded fine. Otherwise, these speakers have the scratches that you would expect on a pair of vintage speakers, those blemishes and dings from the years. None of the visual blemishes impact the operation or use of the speakers that I can tell.

In my efforts to clean out and tidy up the garage I’m offering it up to a new home.

Details - TECHNICAL DATA:
Nominal Diameter 12.00 in (304.8 mm]
Magnet Weight 38.00 oz [1079.2 g]
Frequency Range 34 - 4,000 Hz
Nominal Impedance 8 Ω
DC Resistance (RE) 6.7Ω
Resonance Frequency (fs) 34 Hz
Mechanical Q Factor (QMS) 2.90
Electrical Q Factor (QES) 0.84
Total Q Factor (QTS) 0.65
Effective Cone Area (SD) 84.48 in^2 (0.054545 m^2]
Equivalent Air Volume (VAS) 5.156 ft^3 [146.0 L]
Compliance (CMS) 0.00035 m/N
Moving Mass (MMS) 2.27 oz [64.4 g]
Voice Coil Diameter 2.00 in [50.8 mm]
Voice Coil Winding Height 0.69 in [17.5 mm]
Voice Coil Former Material 5 Mil Aluminum
Voice Coil Inductance 1.02 mH
Force Factor (BI) 10.4 Tm
Linear Excursion (Xmax) 0.24 in [6.1 mm]
Sensitivity (SPL) 90 dB W/m
Operating Power (PE) 100 W

Here is a good description I found online:
The Rockford Fosgate The Punch SP-812 is a 12-inch subwoofer from the early 1990s (circa 1990–1994), known as a "classic" or "Pro" series woofer. It is an 8-ohm, U.S.-made driver designed for high-performance car audio, often used in multiples to achieve deep, thunderous bass.
Model Identification: The SP-812 was part of the 1990 Punch subwoofer lineup (SP series), with the "8" typically denoting 8 ohms, distinct from the 4-ohm SP-412.
Performance & Usage: These, along with similar "Punch Classic" (PCH-812) models, were staples of 90s car audio, known for being used with vintage amplifiers like the Punch 45HD or Punch 150.
Design & Legacy: They are remembered for their robust construction and are considered desirable by "old school" car audio collectors, frequently appearing in retro builds today.
Specifications: As a 12-inch 8-ohm driver, it was designed to be bridged with powerful amplifiers, such as a Punch 150 run in mono.
These subwoofers are highly sought after by collectors, with used pairs often holding significant value depending on condition.

Includes:
1 pair (2 in total) of vintage Rockford Fosgate The Punch SP-812 8 Ohms subwoofers

AS-IS NO RETURNS I am just an individual seller trying to clean out their garage from projects and their uncle passing away, trying to break even from the items and this effort. About Legacy

Legacy Audio is a high-end loudspeaker manufacturer founded in 1983 by Bill Dudleston and Jacob Albright in Springfield, Illinois. Dudleston, an engineering prodigy with a background in physics and acoustic modeling, partnered with Albright, a seasoned craftsman, to create speakers that prioritized both performance and value. The company's early flagship, the Legacy-1, quickly gained recognition within the audiophile community and established the brand's reputation for delivering exceptional acoustic performance at competitive price points.

The company specializes exclusively in loudspeakers, producing both passive and active powered speaker systems across multiple price tiers. Their product lineup includes legendary models such as the Focus, Aeris, and Valor, alongside more accessible designs like the Calibre and Whisper. Legacy has increasingly embraced active speaker designs with digital signal processing (DSP), a direction that reflects the brand's commitment to advancing loudspeaker technology while maintaining their core engineering philosophy.

Legacy occupies a distinctive position in the high-end audio market as a boutique manufacturer known for meticulous craftsmanship and engineering rigor. The brand's reputation rests on consistent delivery of wider bandwidth, lower distortion, greater efficiency, and higher reliability than competitors at comparable price points. Backed by a seven-year performance guarantee and handcrafted entirely in-house, Legacy Audio appeals to discerning audiophiles and home theater enthusiasts who value engineering integrity and long-term reliability over mass-market appeal.
