Absolutely incredible sound, just as good as they always were. No really an issue but the foam inside by the speakers is missing, doesn’t affect sound
This US$197 asking price is a strong deal, landing just below the 25th percentile of US$199 from our database of four recent comparable listings, where the median sits at US$222 and the 75th percentile at US$253. It’s a genuine bargain for the Sennheiser HD 600 Professional, especially compared to the typical used range of US$200–US$250 seen across the market.
The HD 600 is a legendary open-back reference headphone, prized for its neutral, detailed sound and exceptional clarity in the midrange—ideal for critical listening, mixing, and audiophile enjoyment. At this price, you’re getting a well-respected, durable model with minimal wear risk if the unit is from an original owner. With no red flags in the listing and a price that undercuts even quick-sale expectations, this is a clear buying opportunity for anyone seeking top-tier fidelity without the new-headphone cost.

Founded in June 1945 by Dr. Fritz Sennheiser in a farmhouse near Hanover, Germany, Sennheiser began as Laboratorium Wennebostel, producing voltmeters and early microphones amid post-World War II reconstruction. Seven engineers from the University of Hannover joined the founder, quickly pivoting to broadcast microphones like the DM 2 in 1946 and the groundbreaking MD 82 shotgun mic in 1956. Renamed Sennheiser electronic in 1958, the family-owned company passed to second- and third-generation leadership, maintaining its innovative spirit over eight decades.
Sennheiser excels in professional and consumer audio, renowned for microphones, wireless systems, and headphones that set industry standards. Pioneers of the first open-back headphones (HD 414 in 1968) and enduring studio icons like the MD 421 and MD 441, they also produce high-end headphones, earbuds, soundbars, and conferencing solutions. While strong in pro audio like mixers and geophysical gear, their consumer focus centers on headphones and wireless tech rather than amplifiers, speakers, turntables, DACs, or cables.
Sennheiser commands a premium position in the hi-fi market, blending mid-tier accessibility with high-end excellence for discerning buyers and professionals. Trusted for reliability and sonic precision, it appeals to audiophiles seeking reference-grade headphones without boutique obscurity, backed by a heritage of technological firsts that sustains its global leadership.
