The imaging and detail is spectacular compared to the 250s.Selling only because I need to make room on my headphone rack!In original box with cable, bag, and 6.3mm adapter included.

Our Thoughts RADAR AI

This is a buyer’s market for well-regarded closed-back studio headphones, and the US$92 asking price for the Austrian Audio Hi-X15 is a strong deal, sitting well below the 25th percentile of US$96 from our database and undercutting the median of US$101. It’s also lower than the US$98 demo deal recently seen on eBay, making it one of the cheapest credible used offers in USD right now.

The Hi-X15 earns praise for its high-excursion 44mm dynamic driver, delivering punchy low-end and tight control in a closed-back design ideal for tracking and mixing. It’s competitively priced against rivals while offering near-entry-level professional monitoring performance, originally released at US$119. At US$92, even without confirmed condition details, this represents genuine upside for a buyer chasing budget pro audio gear with proven sonic credibility.

Independent perspective — not a price guarantee. Always verify condition, accessories and provenance before purchase.

About Austrian Audio

Austrian Audio is a Vienna-based pro-audio brand founded in 2017 by former AKG engineers and creators after AKG’s Vienna office closed, with the company explicitly framing itself as a continuation of that local heritage. Its identity is tied to Austrian engineering rather than long consumer-audio history, so it is a relatively young brand by hi-fi standards.

The company is best known for microphones and headphones, especially studio-oriented models such as the Hi-X series and its vocal/instrument microphones. It is not primarily a maker of amplifiers, speakers, turntables, DACs, or cables; its catalogue is concentrated in professional and monitoring gear rather than full-system hi-fi components.

In the market, Austrian Audio sits as a serious pro-audio specialist with a reputation for high build quality, precise sound, and value above pure luxury positioning. It is best described as a niche, high-end-leaning brand for recording engineers, musicians, and discerning listeners, rather than a vintage-collector name or a broad consumer hi-fi company.
