Purchased from stereo exchange in New York City. Low output best sounding moving coil cartridge that I have ever heard. If you don’t know what a step up transformer is, you’ll need to do research, but this is far away the silky smoothest most accurate cartridge listen to Nat “King” Cole or your favorite vocal, but you’ll need a high-end turntable to take advantage of this Beauty hand wired by those gentle Japanese finger.Played perhaps 5-7 hours haven’t used it since 2017 comes with packaging.PayPal, or cashiers check. $4300
Notable mainly because the Kleos is one of Lyra’s respected moving-coil cartridges: fast, detailed, and exceptionally articulate when set up well. At US$3,750, this listing is slightly below current new pricing for the Kleos family but still above the typical used value I’d expect for a 2015 example, so I’d call it a bit ambitious rather than a bargain.
The upside is straightforward if the stylus hours are genuinely low and the cartridge comes with the original box, screws, guard, and a clean cantilever: Lyra cartridges are prized for resolution, timing, and low coloration, and a well-kept sample can be a very satisfying long-term keeper. I’d treat it as a buy only if the seller can document hours and condition, because at this price the value rests heavily on remaining stylus life and proper setup, not just the badge.

Lyra Analog emerged from a visionary collaboration among three audio pioneers: American designer Jonathan Carr, Japanese master-craftsman Yoshinori Mishima, and Norwegian business leader Stig Bjørge. Founded in Japan, the brand embodies a commitment to original engineering and artisanal precision, with all products hand-built from the ground up under meticulous supervision. This heritage reflects Japan's revered tradition of craftsmanship, prioritizing long-lasting transducers that push analog playback boundaries.
The brand specializes exclusively in high-end phono cartridges, such as the acclaimed Delos, Kleos, Atlas, and SPT models. These moving-coil designs extract unparalleled texture, transparency, and dynamic contrast from vinyl records, delivering immersive emotional depth. Lyra avoids broader categories like amplifiers, speakers, or headphones, focusing instead on transducers that redefine analog fidelity through innovative materials and construction.
Positioned firmly in the ultra-high-end market, Lyra commands reverence among audiophiles and vinyl enthusiasts for its industry-leading advances and limited availability. Crafted to be among the finest in their class, these cartridges appeal to discerning collectors seeking maximum revelation from analog sources, blending cutting-edge design with Japanese build quality that ensures enduring performance.
