Seller's Description

Leak Sandwich 200 Standmount Loudspeakers For sale:This is an original pair of Leak Sandwich 200 three way speakers in very good condition, not mint, but very good. This is a genuine three way system, not two tweeters, one is used for the midrange. These are a matched pair, as you can see by the serial numbers. All drivers are perfect, as is the metal trim around the front panel. The grill cloth is almost spot on, other than some minor wear on the corners, to be expected for the age. The rear panel has the original DIN output plus binding posts, possibly added later, but it does make them a lit

Our Thoughts RADAR AI

Is this the kind of classic UK monitor you’ve been waiting for? At A$260, it sits well below your A$252 25th percentile anchor? Actually, on your own market data it’s just above the 25th percentile and far under the A$438 median, so this reads as a strong-value buy rather than a bargain-basement flier.

That makes it attractive if the cabinets are genuinely clean and the drivers are healthy, because these are well-regarded for a big, smooth, natural presentation with good imaging and an easy listen that suits long sessions. For a like-new pair at this price, the upside is strong: you’re buying into a respected design without paying mid-market money, and there’s enough headroom that even a quick audition and a look for any veneer, driver, or grille issues is worth the time.

Independent perspective — not a price guarantee. Always verify condition, accessories and provenance before purchase.

About LEAK Stereo

Founded in 1934 by Harold Joseph Leak in London, England, LEAK emerged as a pioneering force in British hi-fi, initially crafting public address systems and cinema amplifiers before pivoting to high-fidelity home audio amid post-war innovation. With engineer Ted Ashley's contributions, the brand rode the 1950s hi-fi boom, producing landmark valve amplifiers like the TL/12 series, which set benchmarks for low distortion and performance, establishing LEAK as a global leader in affordable excellence.

LEAK specialized in integrated amplifiers, such as the iconic Stereo 20, Stereo 30, and Stereo 50, alongside innovative loudspeakers featuring the patented "Sandwich" foam-core drivers for precise bass and clarity. The lineup extended to radio tuners, pickups, tonearms, and turntables, blending valve warmth with emerging transistor tech to dominate the stereo era.

Acquired by the Rank Organisation in 1969 and dormant by the late 1970s amid Japanese competition, LEAK's revival under the IAG Group since 2020 honors its heritage with modern classics like the Stereo 130 and 230 integrated amplifiers, plus CD transports and streamers. Revered by vintage collectors for cult models like the Stereo 30, it holds mid-tier prestige today—delivering high-end British sound at accessible prices for discerning buyers seeking timeless refinement.
