Excellent condition at €200 is a bit rich for this model. The RX-230R is a solid late-’80s JVC stereo receiver, but it’s not a high-demand collector piece, and similar used JVC two-channel receivers typically trade more in the €60–€120 range depending on working status and cosmetics. At €200, this is above fair-market unless it’s been recently serviced, fully documented, and includes a standout presentation.
What makes it worthwhile is the straightforward, reliable vintage JVC sound: good tuner section, sensible controls, and enough power for efficient speakers in a smaller room. If the cosmetics are truly clean and all inputs, lamps, and controls are healthy, it can be a nice daily-use piece. But at this price, I’d want proof of full function and preferably service history; otherwise, it’s more of a nice example than a strong buy.
