I HAVE BEEN A COLLECTOR FOR 50 YEARS SO PLEASE WATCH FOR UPCOMING GOODIES FROM COLLECTION. I AM LIQUIDATING ALL AND COLLECTION IS IMMENSE. Vintage 1961 Pioneer SM-B200A Stereo Tube Receiver with Original Box plus All Packing. This receiver has been in my collection for 40+ years and I have never plugged it in until now. Being careful I plugged receiver into a variac and slowly brought AV voltage up to 100 VAC receiver is designed to run on 117 VAC. I had a CD player connected so as soon as tubes warmed up I would hear audio. To my amazement audio was loud and clear with absolutely no hum or distortion, Holy Cow. I then check AM tuner on left channel and FM tuner on right channel (that's how they did stereo back in the day) and both tuners even work. I am thinking this is to good to be true. Well all controls and switches are smooth and noise free plus lamps working. Folks this receiver was the 1st receiver produced by Pioneer and looking at underside it appears original. Date code on caps where dated June 1960 so this looks like a very early SM-B200A. I have been looking around and I do not think you will find one cleaner and never in original box. The testing was done only up to 100 VAC and I recommend having you or your tech putting on a bench and test thoroughly prior to putting into regular use. All hookups are shown on rear but a bit tricky on speaker hookup so last pic shows where to hook up speakers. Face looks excellent except right/top corner has a slight bend as seen in pictures, let you bend back if it bothers you. Audio tube on front lights up slightly but I do not know what it is supposed to do. This one is definitely "Collector Quality" with Museum Quality potential. I am selling AS-IS due to age (65 years old) as You really want to test on bench watching current draw over time.
