Seller's Description

Definitive Technology DN-8 Subwoofer (Active / Powered) OK - time to shift these Price reduced. Willing to listen to sensible offers.I currently have 2 of these in my upstairs cinema room, which rarely gets used, but only need one. Therefore I am up for selling ONE of these. They are barely used and still have some warranty left (purchased July 2024).Def Tech make superb subs, and this little 8" works more like a 12", given it has 2 x 8" passive radiators, as well as the 8" driver - driven by a D-class amp that can put out up to 500W peak.But... being an 8", it is far smaller than a 12" or 10"

Our Thoughts RADAR AI

At A$499, this Definitive Technology Descend DN12 is a genuine bargain compared to the obvious alternative: a new 12-inch sub from mainstream brands like Klipsch or SVS, which typically start around A$600–A$800. The DN12’s original retail was A$1,999–A$2,199, so a used price under A$500 sits well below the 25th percentile of typical used listings, making it a strong deal for enthusiasts who want serious bass without overspending.

This sub is well-regarded for its clean, powerful output driven by a 500-watt RMS Class H amp and twin passive radiators, delivering deep, controlled low-end that holds up in both home theater and music setups. The 12-inch long-throw woofer and efficient design make it a standout in its class, and at this price, it’s a clear buying opportunity—especially if it’s in good condition with the original owner and no missing accessories. No major caveats apply unless the listing hints at damage or age issues.

Independent perspective — not a price guarantee. Always verify condition, accessories and provenance before purchase.

Today, Definitive Technology operates as a division of Sound United under DEI Holdings, maintaining headquarters in Vista, California, where it continues its legacy of audio innovation.
