Seller's Description

Focal Bathys Headphones - Over/On Ear Good condition Focal Bathys noise cancelling wireless headphones.  I bought these from the original owner for use during an overseas trip and they were excellent. However, with a pair Focal Stellia headphones at home I’ve found I’ve hardly used them since the trip. Function perfectly and very good cosmetic condition with just some minor signs of wear on the ear pads.  Comes with the original box, paperwork and travel case.  Very well reviewed and incredible sound for a wireless and noise cancelling headphone. My asking price includes shipping. From the Foc

# Focal BATHYS – AUD $800 Asking Price

Are you comfortable with a premium asking price for a product that's still relatively new to the secondhand market? The Focal BATHYS at AUD $800 sits squarely at the top of your comparable range (75th percentile AUD $808), suggesting the seller is pricing it near market ceiling. Typically, used BATHYS units trade around AUD $750–$850 depending on condition and completeness, so this isn't a bargain—it's asking for retail-adjacent money for a used unit. Unless the headphones are nearly flawless with all original accessories and packaging, you're better positioned to negotiate down or hunt for a sub-AUD $750 example.

Before committing, verify the ear cup condition closely; the BATHYS' leather and plastic components show wear quickly under daily use, and replacements aren't cheap. Confirm the noise-cancellation circuitry is functioning smoothly across all modes, that the battery holds its rated charge, and that all original accessories—cable, case, documentation—are included. Ask directly about service history and any drops or water exposure, since internal components can fail silently months after cosmetic damage.

Independent perspective — not a price guarantee. Always verify condition, accessories and provenance before purchase.

About Focal

Focal traces its roots to 1979 in Saint-Étienne, France, where engineer and hi-fi enthusiast Jacques Mahul founded the company in a small workshop within his father's precision engineering firm. Initially operating as JMlab, it began crafting bespoke speaker drivers, with early models like the DB13 earning acclaim for their compact yet dynamic bass performance. This heritage of acoustic innovation and French craftsmanship propelled Focal's evolution, marked by pivotal 1990s expansions under Gérard Chrétien's leadership, yielding iconic references such as the Vega and Grande Utopia loudspeakers that redefined audiophile standards.

The brand's core focus remains high-fidelity loudspeakers, where it excels through in-house driver design featuring breakthroughs like inverted-dome tweeters, Polyglass cones, flax diaphragms, and beryllium tweeters in its Utopia line. Focal has diversified into professional studio monitors, premium headphones, car audio systems, and select accessories, all emphasizing noble materials and meticulous engineering. While not delving into amplifiers, turntables, DACs, or cables, its speaker-centric portfolio spans home, mobile, and pro applications with unwavering commitment to purity of sound.

Positioned firmly in the high-end market, Focal commands respect as a world leader among discerning hi-fi buyers for its benchmark performance, international awards, and "Made in France" prestige. No longer a niche boutique, it blends heritage appeal with cutting-edge technology, attracting serious audiophiles who prioritize transparency, dynamics, and emotional depth over mass-market compromises.
