ProAc stands for Professional Acoustics, a British loudspeaker manufacturer founded in 1979 by Stewart Tyler. The brand emerged from Tyler's earlier venture, Celef Audio, which he established in 1973 to develop compact speakers with extended bass response and refined treble. Based in Borehamwood, Hertfordshire, ProAc was formally launched after Tyler discovered superior drive units manufactured by ATC, which prompted him to establish a dedicated brand for higher-quality designs. The company relocated to a dedicated factory in Brackley in 1990, where production continues today. Despite Tyler's passing in 2021, ProAc remains a family-run operation committed to his original vision.

ProAc specializes exclusively in loudspeakers across multiple categories, from compact standmount designs to larger floor-standing models. The brand is recognized for its signature product lines, including the Tablette, Response, and K-Series ranges.
