€400 is fair to slightly attractive for an Elac EL 141 in excellent condition, but I’d want a little more evidence before calling it a slam-dunk bargain; without solid recent comps for this exact model, it reads as a reasonable asking price rather than an obvious steal. Elac’s older speakers are generally well liked for clean build quality and a refined top end, so a well-kept pair can still be a very satisfying listen.
The real upside here is condition: if the cabinets are genuinely clean, drivers are original and intact, and the tweeters sound smooth with no imbalance, you’re buying a speaker that should still do music with poise and detail. For a vintage/used Elac, I’d mainly check for foam or surround age, matching serials, and whether grilles and stands are included, since those details matter more than cosmetics on a fair-price listing.
