Seller's Description

Parasound Model 2100 Pre Amplifier Wonderful preamplifier by the very famous Parasound built in Taiwan and Australian delivered. This presents almost as new with even the protection film over the screen. Has all original packaging with manual and double boxing so shipping nationwide will be very easy. It has been a great backup preamp for myself but I am finding that I am not using it enough and need to stop hoarding. Although the unit almost presents as new there are a few scratches on the top that don't show too well in the pics (they aren't bad). Very versatile unit like the bigger brothers

Our Thoughts RADAR AI

Fair ask, slightly on the sensible side. At A$520, this sits below the A$675 median for recent comparable AUD listings, though still above the A$319 25th percentile, so it’s not a steal but it is a decent buy rather than an ambitious one.

For a clean like_new example, that’s a good setup: this is a well-regarded preamp line known for solid build, useful connectivity, and an easy, neutral presentation that suits a wide range of systems. If the photos match the condition and it includes the remote, it’s the kind of listing that makes sense for someone wanting a dependable control center without paying top-of-market money.

Independent perspective — not a price guarantee. Always verify condition, accessories and provenance before purchase.

About Parasound

Parasound, an enduring American hi-fi brand, traces its roots to 1981 when Richard Schram founded it in San Francisco, California. Drawing from his experience in consumer electronics retail and engineering trips to Asia, Schram aimed to bridge the gap between exorbitantly priced high-end gear and lackluster budget options. His vision crystallized through savvy U.S. design paired with cost-effective manufacturing in Taiwan, establishing Parasound as a beacon of accessible excellence from the outset.

The brand excels in amplifiers and preamplifiers, its core stronghold, with the acclaimed Halo series embodying decades of refinement. Iconic collaborations with legendary designer John Curl—starting in 1989—elevate power amps, phono stages like the JC3+, and processors to reference-level performance. While not venturing into speakers, turntables, DACs, headphones, or cables, Parasound's focused lineup delivers uncolored, dynamic sound through innovative circuits and robust builds.

Parasound occupies a prime mid-to-high-end niche, revered for punching far above its price weight with reliability that rivals pricier boutique rivals. Audiophiles and critics praise its value-driven sonic fidelity, build quality, and longevity, fostering fierce loyalty worldwide. Even under new ownership since 2022, it remains the discerning buyer's choice for high-performance audio without prestige-driven excess.
