That puts it outside the sweet spot for a straightforward used buy unless this example is exceptionally clean, complete, and attractive on provenance.
That said, the Expert 200 is still a serious piece: compact, powerful, and highly capable as an all-in-one amp/DAC with strong drive and refinement, so it remains desirable for systems where space and simplicity matter. If the unit is original-owner, recently serviced, and includes the remote, box, and any key accessories, the premium is easier to justify; if not, I’d be patient and wait for a listing closer to A$3,500–A$4,500.
