Scan-Speak was founded on February 1, 1970, in Videbæk, Denmark, by Ejvind Skaaning, initially to produce drivers for Scandyna A-25 and Dynaco A-25 loudspeakers after a supply dispute with Seas. Emerging from Skaaning's prior venture QSR and ties to Scandinavian Speaker Company, the firm quickly expanded, developing iconic early products like the D2008 tweeter by 1971-74.
