Der Lautsprecher stammt aus einer Versteigerung
und wurde vermutlich kaum oder nie benutzt.

Ich hatte unterschätzt wie groß und schwer

daher für mein Vorhaben leider ein Fehlkauf.

Der Lautsprecher wurde getestet
und funktioniert einwandfrei.

Es handelt sich vermutlich um ein seltenes
OEM / Sondermodell aus dem professionellen

Our Thoughts RADAR AI

Is €700 worth it for a used speaker cable, or are you paying too much for brand and bragging rights? Against your own recent comps, this sits well above the 75th percentile of €578, so I’d call the asking price ambitious rather than a bargain. It’s not absurd if this is a higher-tier Zu pair in genuinely excellent shape, but it’s firmly premium money for the category.

The upside is that Zu’s cables are typically built to a high standard and are easy to like in a system that values strong dynamics, good tonal drive, and a robust, no-nonsense feel. If the terminations are original, the length suits your setup, and the cable has been kept clean, there’s real appeal here for a buyer who specifically wants this house sound and look. At €700, though, I’d want confirmation of exact length and connectors before pulling the trigger.

Independent perspective — not a price guarantee. Always verify condition, accessories and provenance before purchase.

About Zu Audio

Zu Audio emerged in 2000 from Ogden, Utah, founded by Sean Casey, a veteran audio engineer with roots in the 1980s party scene where he honed his skills wiring speakers for maximum impact. Disillusioned by hi-fi's shift toward clinical precision over musical vitality, Casey established the company to revive the pioneering spirit of early American audio, drawing on 1930s RCA research by Harry Olson and collaborations like the Zu-Griewe acoustic loading technology co-developed with Ron Griewe. Now a family-owned enterprise in its third decade, Zu remains firmly rooted in U.S. manufacturing, embodying Casey's vision of accessible, soul-stirring sound.

The brand specializes in high-efficiency full-range loudspeakers, such as the landmark Druid launched in 2001, which pairs a single 10-inch driver with proprietary loading for crossover-free direct amplifier coupling and natural balance in modest spaces. Zu complements these with audiophile cables and select electronics, including single-ended triode-inspired amps like the AC Soul Superfly, prioritizing paper-cone drivers and physics-driven designs over multi-way complexity for dynamic, lifelike playback across genres.

Positioned as a niche boutique in the high-end market, Zu Audio commands a devoted following among audiophiles seeking bold, efficient systems that punch above their price without demanding exotic amplification. Its unconventional approach—high sensitivity, modest footprints, and unapologetic realism—sparks debate yet earns praise from outlets like Stereophile for innovation, appealing to discerning buyers who value American craftsmanship over mainstream polish.
